Pedestrian Master Plan

The City of Belmont has adopted a pedestrian master plan to make our city even more walkable and pedestrian friendly.

The master plan was funded by a grant from the North Carolina Department of Transportation Division of Bicycle and Pedestrian Transportation.

Project Consultant

The City used Greenways, Incorporated as its consultant on the project.

Components of the Plan

This plan lists and prioritizes physical improvements, such as:
  • Greenways
  • Intersection improvements
  • New sidewalks
It also provides examples of programs and policies that can be used to create a more physically active environment.
