The City of Belmont adopted its first comprehensive plan in August 2007. The Belmont Comprehensive Land Use Plan is a guide for how the city should grow in the future. The comprehensive plan is not an ordinance or law, but development plans and rezoning decisions must be made with consideration of the plan.
The Comprehensive Land Use Plan is available here or in the Planning Department in either hard copy or on a CD.
Comprehensive Land Use Maps
The City of Belmont has adopted three versions of its Comprehensive Land Use Map. The NC Turnpike Authority has not yet decided on an alignment of the proposed Garden Parkway, so the City adopted maps for three options: no Garden Parkway, the northern alignment of the Garden Parkway, and the southern alignment of the Garden Parkway. Please click on a map to see it in a PDF format.
