BBQ Fundraiser

On October 3rd, Belmont Parks and Recreation will be having a BBQ fundraiser to raise money for a new play unit in Stowe Park! 

BBQ plates are being catered by Buddy’s BBQ and will be available for dine-in, delivery, and carry out from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Recreation Center (37 E Woodrow Ave. Belmont, NC 28012). All plates come with pulled BBQ, two buns, chips, slaw, a Debbie cake, AND a drink of your choice! (Water, Coke, Diet Coke, or Sprite)

Deliveries will be made to any business with orders of 5 or more plates. Please call us at (704) 825-8191 if you would like to purchase plates and/or schedule a delivery.

Hometown Hoedown

Dust off your boots and saddle up for a night filled with live music, dancing, great food, and fun for all! This year’s annual Hometown Hoedown will be on October 7, 2017 at Park Street United Methodist Church in Belmont from 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm. Featuring LIVE Music from Lowdown South (a country/southern rock band) and a delicious BBQ dinner from Kyle Fletcher’s BBQ, this is sure to be a night for the books! Tickets are on sale NOW and can be purchased at the Belmont Recreation Center at 37 E. Woodrow Ave. Belmont, NC.

Please note that the Hometown Hoedown is a 55+ years and older event. Advance ticket prices are available until September 15 and there is small price difference for out-of-city guests. Please call 704-825-8191 for more information.

Fall Movies in the Park

As the leaves start to fall and the Halloween spirit comes alive, bring your family, friends, or significant other out for our two October screenings of Movies in the Park! Snacks and refreshments will be available for purchase on site. All items will be $1.00. Menu items will be popcorn, chips, candy, sodas, water, and hot chocolate. Movies will start around 8:00 pm.  Don’t forget your blankets and chairs!

  • October 14 – Hocus Pocus
  • October 28 – Poltergeist

Boo Fest

Bring out the family for our annual Boo Fest October 21, 2017 from 2:00 to 9:00 pm at Stowe Park in Downtown Belmont! We have teamed up with The Haunted Mill in Belmont in an effort to make this year's festival a Spooktacular event for all ages! Festival attendees can expect:

  • Carnival Rides
  • Games for the Whole Family
  • Cupcake Walk
  • Hay Rides
  • Costume Contest
  • Hundreds of Vendors from all over the Carolinas!

Winter Sports Registration

Basketball registrations for ages 3-15 are quickly approaching! The registration window opens up on October 2 both online and in our office.  They will continue until teams are full or December 1st, whichever comes first.  Don't wait until the last minute to register!  Call our office at 704-825-8191 if you have any questions.
