The City of Belmont is starting the process of updating its Comprehensive Lane Use Plan. The current plan was adopted in 2007 and updated in 2018 (Click here to access the current document).  The City 's goal is to build upon the existing plan, with a special focus on alternative housing forms as part of the proposed update process.

The Plan update will assist City staff, City Council, Planning Board, and other advisory committees to gauge the direction that citizens and various other stakeholders within the community would like to go, will guide decisions affecting the physical development and redevelopment within the City's planning area, and provide a guiding document that reflects our unique character and provides a clear process showing the way the City can build upon its strengths.

• Selection Commitee Review and Consultant Selection Complete: December 11, 2023 √
• Planning Board Consultant Recommendation: December 14, 2023
• City Council Consultant Selection- January 2, 2023- anticipated
• January/February 2024- Comprehensive Land Use Plan Update begins!
